Grady Rogers: A Young Man on a Mission

Over the years, we have seen many young men engage their community through Boy Scouts. Their crowning accomplishment is when the scout completes the Eagle Scout service project, which must done by their 18th birthday. Oldham County High School Sophomore Grady Rogers has already made his plan and started his project and Oldham Greenways is pleased that Grady has involved us along with Oldham County Parks and Recreation.

Grady's Eagle Scout project is to raise funds to build and install an 18-hole disc golf course in Wendell Moore Park. Disc Golf is popular because it can be played by people of all ages....and its FREE!

Part of Greenways' mission is to encourage activities that enhance the quality of life for Oldham County residents. For this reason, we are please to support Grady's Project because it will bring friends and family outdoors to enjoy a nice round of disc golf.

Grady is working hard to raise the needed funds to purchase equipment as well as fund a professional disc golf course designer, ensuring that a tournament caliber course can be constructed. This is a daunting task, but with the community's support and with Grady's robust plan the course should be open in Spring 2017.

We thank Grady for helping to enhance the quality of life for Oldham County Residents.
